Support Trinity Presbyterian Church

Your generosity enables the mission and ministry of Trinity. Tap here to open our online giving page, or scroll down to learn more about how your generosity empowers our work and the many ways your can participate in our financial life.

Our work relies on your support.

Trinity relies on the generosity of our congregation to enable our mission and ministry. Without your financial support we could not engage in transforming mission, welcoming hospitality, moving worship, and enlightening study. We know that you have many choices for how you use your financial resources; thank you for saying yes to Trinity.

We want to make it easy for you to support Trinity in the way that makes the most sense for you and your situation. Here are the primary ways you can participate in our financial life:

  • In-Person Gift. Each Sunday during worship we have a time to dedicate our offerings to God. You may place your gift in the offering plates as they are passed during worship, or you may also place your gift in our offering drop-box in the West Entryway. You may also hand-deliver your gift to the church office during business hours. Offering envelopes are available upon request.

  • Mail-in Gift. You may have your check (no cash please) delivered to the church via US Post. Please address your correspondence as follows:

    • Trinity Presbyterian Church
      Attn: Treasurer
      1900 E Barataria St.
      Springfield, MO 65804

  • Online Gift. Online giving is a quick, easy, and safe way to support Trinity. You can make a recurring or one time gift from your phone, tablet, or computer using your checking account, debit, or credit card. Tap here to make your gift.

  • Memorial Gift. Memorial Gifts are a special gift offered in memory of a friend or loved one. While other gifts typically support the Trinity General Fund, Memorial Gifts may be designated to a specific purpose (see our FAQ section for more details). To make a Memorial Gift, please fill out this brief online form. Payment may be made online on the form or via post.

How will Trinity use my financial gift?

Unless designated otherwise, all financial gifts to Trinity are used to support our General Fund. This fund provides the resources for our ongoing ministry and mission work. If you would like a copy of our most recent annual report and church budget please contact us.

If we are currently collecting for a special offering or mission project you may be asked to select which fund you wish to support with your online gift. If you wish to support a fund other than our General Fund, please select that fund as you make your gift.

Do you have a preferred method for making gifts?

Yes. Gifts made by check (either in person or online) or cash involve the fewest transaction fees, allowing the greatest percentage of your gift to go directly to mission and ministry. When you make a gift with a credit or debit card we pay a small processing fee on that gift. However, we would encourage you to participate in our financial life in the way that makes the most sense for you and your personal situation.

How do I make a gift by check online?

We use a secure transaction called an ACH payment to transfer funds from your checking account to our checking account. This is the same method banks use to transfer funds from one institution to another and is very secure.

To use our online check payment / ACH system simply:

  1. Open our online giving system.

  2. Enter your gift amount, if you want to make a one-time or recurring gift, and which fund you wish to support (typically our General Fund).

  3. Enter your mobile phone number. The system will text you a one-time security code. Enter when prompted.

  4. Enter your name and email address for your receipt.

  5. Choose “Bank Account” as your payment method and enter your routing and account numbers. Select if this is a checking or savings account.

  6. Confirm your information and submit.

How do I make a gift by credit or debit card online?

We use a secure payment system to process your credit or debit card gift with the same level of security as leading online retailers and banks.

To make a credit / debit card gift simply:

  5. Choose “Card” as your payment method and enter your card information as prompted.

  6. Confirm your information and submit.

Is my information secure when I make an online gift?

Trinity has partnered with industry leading companies to process and secure our online giving system. Your information is encrypted / secured using bank level security and your payment details are never stored on Trinity computers. We partner with Church Community Builder (our church database partner) and Pushpay (a leading payment processor for the church and non-profit sector) to manage our giving platform.

With all the said, as we are all aware it is never possible to eliminate 100% of risk when it comes to cybersecurity. Major corporations across the globe with hundreds of dedicated security staff are victims of cyber attack. While Trinity has taken every reasonable precaution to keep your information secure, we cannot guarantee that one of our partner organizations, including our bank, will never be the victim of a cyber attack.

We encourage all Trinity members to take personal precautions to help keep your information safe. These include making sure to never reuse passwords across services and never sharing passwords or payment information via email or with an unknown individual. Trinity staff will never ask you to purchase gift cards, send money orders, or share your personal or payment information via email, messaging, or text.

How do I change or cancel a repeating gift?

You are always in control of your participation in the financial life of Trinity. You can immediately change or cancel a repeating by:

  1. Open our online giving system.

  2. In the upper right corner, tap “My Account” — you will be prompted to login if you aren’t already.

  3. Tap “Manage Account” — from this page you can update or cancel a recurring gift, as well as seeing your giving history.

Does Trinity have a foundation, endowment, or other longterm investments?

Yes, Trinity has two longterm investment funds, which we refer to as “Legacy Funds.” While they are not a foundation or endowment in a legal sense (this would involve them being a separate legal entity with a separate board of directors) they invested with two non-profit foundations: the Presbyterian Foundation and the Community Foundation of the Ozarks.

Our Mission Legacy Fund (invested with the Presbyterian Foundation) generates interest income, returning a portion each year to be distributed by the Trinity Mission & Public Witness Committee. These funds are above and beyond the budget set by the Session each year.

Our Capital Legacy Fund (invested with the Community Foundation of the Ozarks) generates interest income with all proceeds reinvested into the fund. These funds are designated for future capital projects to support the mission and ministry of Trinity.

If you would like to make a gift to our Legacy Funds, please contact our Treasurer for more information.

How does Trinity use Memorial Gifts?

Memorial gifts are typically given in memory of a friend or loved one. You may indicate how you wish this gift to be used by Trinity.  If no option is selected, the "Standard Designation" will be used.

  • Standard Designation: Your gift will be invested in the Trinity Legacy Funds, evenly split between our Mission Legacy and Capital Legacy funds. These investment funds enhance the mission and ministry of Trinity for this generation and generations to come

  • Mission Designation: Your full gift will be invested in the Mission Legacy Fund, returning interest to support Trinity's mission work for generations to come.

  • Capital Designation: Your full gift will be invested in the Capital Legacy Fund, earning interest which is reinvested to build a fund for future capital and building projects to support Trinity.

  • Children and Youth Designation*: Your gift is used by our Christian Education and Faith Formation Committee to support our ministry with children and youth at Trinity.

  • Eden Village Designation*: Your gift is used by our Mission and Public Witness Committee to support our ongoing partnership with Eden Village.

  • Worship and Music Designation*: Your gift is used by our Worship and Music Committee to support our music program and worship life at Trinity.

Note: Designations marked (*) deposited into the Trinity Operating Account and used for expenses in their program area as directed by the appropriate committee.  Funds deposited into the Legacy Funds (Standard, Mission, and Capital Designations) are interest earning, meaning the donation itself is not spent, but earns interest in perpetuity.
