Extended Worship - March 22, 2020
Over the coming weeks while we are unable to join together in person for worship due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, we will be gathering for extended worship as a community. As we set aside time today for prayer and reflection we are not doing so alone, we are gathered together in a community of faith that is strong and vibrant.
Each Sunday I will be sharing with you resources so you may join your Trinity family in extended worship. This week I am pleased to share my first attempt at a virtual sermon, Reed Dressler has a message for our children, I have put together an eclectic collection of music for your enjoyment, and there are links to devotional resources for your prayer time this coming week.

Children’s Message
This week Reed has a message for our children about how we can help in scary times. To view the video, click here or go to: https://youtu.be/VXcE0ZGWFhI
Music for Social Distancing
Each week I’ll be sharing a few songs that have keeping me going. Some relate to the sermon, others are just things that bring me joy in hard times. Each of these is being added to a playlist on our church YouTube Channel called “Music for Social Distancing” so over the weeks we will build quite the collection! You can click here for the playlist or go to: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL5GPmcaeS0aFW8sqVimfDCi1MUpzXY2T8
This week’s songs are:
The Lord Is My Shepherd (Psalm 23) by Keith & Kristyn Getty (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7pthHAkEIg)
I love this version of Psalm 23, recorded by the writers behind songs like "In Christ Alone."Rescuer (Good News) by Rend Collective (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sAg7rn7fH3Q)
Northern Irish Rend Collective are behind some of the most fun Christian music of the last decade, in my humble opinion. This week I've needed to be reminded that there is always good news!Lord Jesus, You Shall Be My Song arr Lloyd Kauffman (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xFxmIT_NJyo)
A hymn in fairly frequent rotation at Trinity, this recording features a Mennonite choir. In Christ Alone by Stuart Townend & Keith Getty, recorded by Celtic Worship (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8kvFtXphmMU)
When the world seems upside down I often need to be reminded that my home is only truly found in Christ. This recording features a Scottish worship band with a new, relaxed take on the classic worship song.A Mighty Fortress is Our God arr Dan Forrest (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ulLXAGsUL0I)
Finally, one of my favorite hymns ever, performed by a mass choir, full orchestra, and a fantastic organ. Martin Luther based this classic reformation hymn on Psalm 46 and reminds us that our refuge is in God.
