Extended Worship - May 24, 2020
Happy Seventh Sunday of Easter! Today we celebrate the Ascension of the Lord, and we have a lot of great stuff in store for you today. In worship we have several musical guests, plus a sermon from our Synod Executive, the Rev. Landon Whitsitt. Later on in the email there are resources for families to do devotional time together, and of course your soundtrack for the week.
There is also something new we are trying this week; I’ve created a transcript of the worship service (with the exception of lyrics to the songs). You can pull it up and read along. I'd love to know if you find it helpful. If there are ways Trinity or I can be a good support to you this week please reach out!

Each week we are sharing our worship via YouTube; simply click the link to participate in worship. No login is required and you may view the worship video at any time. This week I'm also sharing the worship service we prepared for our John Calvin Presbytery meeting this past Thursday, just in case you might be interested.

Music for Social Distancing
Each week our staff will be sharing some music that is bringing them joy. Some may relate to the sermon, others are just music for the times. You can click herefor the full playlist. Here are this week's picks:
This week's songs from Chris:
I Cannot Tell Why He Whom Angels Worship - Sung by a congregation in the UK, this Irish hymn is a personal favorite, and fitting for Ascension Sunday.
Counting Every Blessing by Rend Collective - Sometimes I need the reminder that "Oh, you are good to me!" and this certainly has the reminder.
Down to the River to Pray by The King's Singers - The King's Singers never fail to disappoint, and their rendition of this classic hymn is no exception.
Charlie Brown Melody by The Piano Guys - Ok, sometimes we need a little joy in our lives. Then other times we need a smile that won't go away for hours...maybe days. This is the second. Trust me on this one.
This week's song from Carla:
The Climb by The Texas Tenors
Hymn to the Fallen by John Williams
