Extending Our Pandemic Safety Protocols During the Omicron Surge
Earlier today the Session of Trinity Presbyterian, after reviewing guidance from our Health Advisory Team, voted to extend our current pandemic safety protocols through at least the end of February 2022. These safety protocols include:
Worship will continue to be held solely via livestream broadcast, with only those directly participating in the worship service in the church building.
All group gatherings (meetings, classes, etc) hosted by Trinity will remain Zoom only.
These protocols will continue through at least Monday, February 28, 2022. The Health Advisory Team will review the situation on or about February 28 and present their guidance to Session.
While there are promising signs that we may be at or near the peak of the current omicron surge, case levels in Greene County continue at some of the highest rates of the pandemic. The most recent 7-day case rate is more than 6 times that of December 1, 2021, and our current hospitalization level is at a near all-time high. When combined with guidance from the Springfield-Greene County Health Department suggesting it will be at least early- to mid-March before we can expect case rates to return to pre-surge levels, the situation continues to indicate that enhanced precautions are necessary.
Like you, I am waiting with anticipation for the day when we can once again gather in the same physical space to worship, study, and serve. Until that time, we will keep bringing you worship online, study opportunities on Zoom, and ways to engage in the mission of the Church in more physically distanced ways. Most importantly, we know that God remains with us in these days.
Wishing you Grace and Peace,
Pastor Chris
