Trinity Newsletter for March 2, 2023

From Pastor Chris

Last week I shared the encouragement to set aside time each day during the season of Lent for prayer and reflection. See the article below for a link to our three Lenten devotionals if you haven't had a chance to begin that journey yet. This week I want to extend an invitation for you to go deeper into your connection with prayer and the Trinity family.

In the early days of the pandemic, we formed the Trinity Prayer Team. This group doesn't meet in-person on a regular basis, but rather agrees to set aside time most days to hold the Trinity family in prayer. Some pray in the morning, some at night. In addition to regular prayer for our church, this group also lifts up specific needs as we learn of them, holding in prayer those in our community who are healing or grieving or celebrating.

If you feel called to join this group, please give me a call or drop me an email. We have daily prayer books available to help you in your prayer. If you have felt a desire to get more connected with Trinity but have difficulty attending regular, in-person events, this might be a great fit for you. Whether you feel led to join our prayer team or not, please know how thankful I am that you are part of our church family!

Grace and Peace,

Pastor Chris

Lent Devotionals Available

If you are like me, one of the first things you think about with Lent is the idea of giving something up; maybe it's chocolate or soda or even social media. The reason Christians have traditionally observed some kind of fasting during Lent is the goal of making space for the movement of God in our lives.

I think the goal of making space for God in our lives is always a good one, but this Lent I would also encourage you to not just give something up, but to take something on. I am encouraging every member of the Trinity family to take time every day for prayer and reflection. What that looks like for each of us will be different, but if you want a place to start, I have pulled together three different devotional resources for your use.

Tap here to view all three of our devotional resources for Lent. Each of these can be downloaded and saved to your device. You can print them for easier reading if you wish. If you have trouble accessing our devotionals electronically, please contact the office and we will be happy to print a copy for you. I hope you will take time to look at each of these resources as we all grow closer to God, and to one another, during this holy season.

Topical Discussions Fellowship- adult learners of all ages meet in the Fellowship Hall. With good coffee and fresh treats from the class members, we strive to discuss a variety of topics relevant to our religion in today’s society.
