Westminster Presbyterian Women Patriotic Picnic
Let's celebrate together with the Westminster Presbyterian Women. The picnic will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church on July 27 at 6:00 p.m. Although it is a picnic, we will be inside and sitting at tables. There will be food, fellowship, and fun. Please bring a dish to share; Westminster will provide burgers and hot dogs, drinks, and paper goods. We will have a short program and some fun games. Please join us!
RSVP to the office of Westminster Presbyterian Church by July 22.
Geezers on the Road!
This past Sunday the Geezers, their families, and Carla joined the services at Hollister Presbyterian Church. They sang "Standing on the Promises," "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot," and "There Is Power in the Blood." It was a wonderful service, with Reverend Clancy Cherry leading the message about being "Yoked". After the service, a pot luck lunch was shared by all with many wonderful conversations and newly formed friendships.
The Geezers have a shared mission to help support smaller Presbyterian churches in our area who may not get to enjoy a choir every Sunday like we do at Trinity. Members of our Geezers are (left to right above) Carla Wootton on piano, Randy Hoops, Byron (Pete) Leonard, Al Dixon, and David Bohnenkamper.
Joys
On Tuesday, July 11, Bill Trotter marked 40 years of service in the Mercy Medical Records department. Congratulations on four decades of loyalty and hard work! We celebrate your achievement, Bill!
If you have a Joy you'd like to share with our Trinity family, please send it to the editor.
Service of Witness to the Resurrection for the Rev. Julie March
A Service of Witness to the Resurrection for the Rev. Julie M. March will be held on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Presbyterian Church. Julie was the stepmother of Susan March Uffman and joined the Church Triumphant on January 27, 2023. Following her diagnosis of Alzheimer's, she returned to Springfield in August, 2014. Her combined children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren will be in attendance on that date. Obituary may be found at gormanscharpf.com.
Walk & Talk
During the Ozarks Festival of Faiths planning, an idea was brought up for a Walk and Talk.
The first one was successful and it was decided to continue them. This is a great opportunity to help heal our community of polarization and bring understanding and appreciation of differences.
Bring your water bottle and spread the word!
