Extended Worship - August 9, 2020

Aug 9 2020 Worship Email.png

It's good to be back with you for worship today!  Our service this week has water theme as we look at the story of Jesus walking on the water; a theme reflected in our hymns.  Carla is back with another wonderful Children's Sermon, David Hart brings some rhythm to the offertory, and special guest Jennifer Forni is joyous in her anthem.  Thank you for being part of the Trinity family; if there are ways that Trinity and I can be a good support to you this week please don't hesitate to reach out.

Music for Social Distancing
Each week our staff will be sharing some music that is bringing them joy.  Some may relate to the sermon, others are just music for the times.  You can click herefor the full playlist.  Here are this week's picks:

This week's songs from Chris:

  • Save Me O God (Psalm 69) by Celtic Psalms - A couple years ago Trinity had the joy of welcoming Northern Ireland based Kiran Young Wimberly & The McGraths as they shared their new album.  One of the songs that spoke to me then and now is 'Save Me O God' - the opening line is what Peter cries out to Jesus as he sinks in the water.

  • The Dark Before The Dawn by Andrew Peterson - With a refrain that proclaims "this is the storm before the calm, this is the dark before the dawn" this song is one place I turn when the chaos of the world seems to be overwhelming.  It reminds me that there is hope; that the Kingdom comes.

  • Bridge Over Troubled Water by The King's Singers - The Paul Simon classic, performed by The King's Singers and the English Chamber Orchestra.
