In the next few weeks, you will be introduced you to some of these candidates.

They were each asked to respond to these questions: Where are you from? What brought you to Trinity? How are you involved at Trinity? What are your hopes for Trinity?

Barbara Highley

Born and raised at Fair Grove, Missouri. We’ve always kept our home here but during Wayne’s store management we lived in Sispen, Cape Girardeau, Missouri and Fairhope, Alabama. We were long time members of First and Calvary Presbyterian, so made the change when Trinity formed. I’ve served Rare Breed meals for a few years, served quarterly meals at Grace Methodist when it was Trinity’s night to serve, taken part in our monthly food drive, and served as a liturgist. I am a member of Rebecca Circle, two small groups, and a member of Sharon Marsh’s outreach committee. My hope is each member would continue to go out in the world being a good representative for our Lord and Trinity. This would show our love and encourage others to join our fellowship.

All Saints' Remembrance

We are preparing for our annual All Saints' remembrance, which will take place during worship on Sunday, November 6. During this remembrance we will read aloud the names of those from our congregation who have entered the Church Triumphant this past year. If there is someone from your own life you would like included in this time of remembrance, please send their name to Kristin Butler for inclusion in the service.

New Meeting Times for Youth Group

Youth group will meet on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month for lunch and lessons after church. Sydney and Nissa intend to have a safe space for open conversation in hopes of supporting independent thought while offering a faith-based perspective. We hope to partner with Westminster's youth group for mission opportunities. Contact: Nissa Krier

Chiming In

Trinity’s music program now includes a three-octave set of mellow, resonant CHOIR CHIMES! The instruments were purchased in loving memory of our friend Liz Sweet, and may be played by children, youth and adults.

To learn how you can be part of a choir chimes ensemble, contact Carla Wootton.

Help Trinity Welcome John Calvin Presbytery!

On Saturday, November 5, Trinity will be hosting the quarterly meeting of John Calvin Presbytery. Representatives of the nearly four-dozen congregations in our region will gather here for worship, study, and the work of the church. You are invited to take part in this important event; here are three ways:

  1. Pray. Pray for this gathering of our region of the PC(USA), that God will guide our worship, study, and work. Pray that all we discuss and decide would advance the mission of Christ in this part of the world. Pray that Trinity can extend grace and welcome to each guest to our facility.

  2. Come and See. If you haven't ever attended a presbytery meeting before, or if it has been a while, consider coming to the meeting and seeing what takes place. Come for worship and communion, come for the educational time, and come for the business meeting. Each part of the day matters in its own way!

  3. Volunteer. We will need several sets of volunteers to help make the day run smoothly, from greeters to help guests find their way to people to serve lunch. The next two Sundays there will be volunteer signup sheets available at church, so if you can spare a couple hours, please be sure to volunteer!

It is easy for us to narrow our focus of what "being the church" means to simply what takes place in our own congregation. Being part of the church of Jesus, however, is about connection with people of faith near and far. Hosting presbytery is one way we make visible that commitment to connection. However you take part, through prayer, by coming and seeing, or by volunteering, thank you for supporting our siblings in faith throughout John Calvin Presbytery!
