Trinity Newsletter for January 12, 2023
From Pastor Chris
I hope you have enjoyed a good start to 2023! Over the coming weeks I will be sharing with you some of our upcoming projects and priorities for the year here at Trinity, from our continuing work on congregational vitality to how we are continuing to invest our resources of time and finances in mission projects here and around the world.
However, the first update of the year comes a bit closer to home. Starting this coming Monday, January 16, construction will begin at church on new, fully accessible restrooms near the Sanctuary. The whole project is expected to take about six weeks to complete and will see the construction of three new "family style," ADA accessible restrooms where the current Parlor is located (next to the women's restroom across from the nursery). Additionally, when the new restrooms are complete, the current restrooms will be renovated and updated.
Here are some expected impacts of this facility upgrade:
Building accessibility on Sundays will NOT change. The current restrooms will remain accessible until the new facilities are complete and ready to use.
There will be construction items visible in the main hallway and in the downstairs kitchen as work progresses. We will strive to keep the disruption to a minimum.
Starting this Monday, we are asking all WEEKDAY access to the building use the West / Trinity doors, as the Foyer / East doors will be used for construction access.
We anticipate the work will take approximately six weeks to complete, but if this changes we will let you know.
This accessibility and access improvement is being funded by our facility partners at Brentwood Christian Church.
I look forward to sharing more about our plans for 2023 with you in the coming weeks, but as always, please let me know if you have any questions. I am delighted you are part of the Trinity family. If you would ever like to get together for coffee or lunch or just to chat, please let me know!
Grace and Peace,
Pastor Chris

Epiphany Handbell Day
It's finally happening! Our efforts to start a handbell choir might have been delayed a couple of years due to the pandemic, but we are off to a wonderful start! On Saturday, January 7, about 14 folks from Trinity and Brentwood met from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Led by Ilace Mears (who is a phenomenal teacher), we had a wonderful meet and greet, learned the basics of handbells and chimes, did a little ringing and were able to end our day by playing a song. We had a lovely lunch together and a great beginning to what we hope will be a wonderful way to spread more musical blessings to the congregations of Trinity and Brentwood.
We are planning to have weekly rehearsals on Monday evenings from 6:30-7:30 p.m., but we are still in the planning phase and discussing a schedule that is best for everyone.
Here are some pics to get you as excited as we are about the handbells and chimes!
