Trinity Worship - January 31, 2021 - Teaching with Authority

Jan 31 2021 Worship Email.png

We have a really special worship service today.  First, we are saying "goodbye" to Reed Dressler; Reed has served as our youth pastor for a couple years now, and we've been blessed with his Children's Sermons frequently during the pandemic.  Reed will be heading to Basic Training with the Army Reserves tomorrow as he prepares for service to our country as a Civil Affairs Specialist. Please see Carla's note in the newsletter this past week if you want to send encouragement to Reed.

Second, this week we are celebrating the ordination and installation of our incoming Elders and Deacons.  Trinity is blessed with gifted and devoted leadership, and this class is no different.  Please join me in thanking our incoming officers and holding them in prayer in the months to come.

Finally, please remember that our Annual Congregational Meeting is TODAY at 11:30am via Zoom.  You should have received an email last night with all the details.

Thank you for being part of the Trinity family.

Music for Social Distancing
Each week our staff will be sharing some music that is bringing them joy.  Some may relate to the sermon, others are just music for the times.  You can click herefor the full playlist.  Here are this week's recommendations:

  • Christ Our Hope in Life and Death by Keith and Kristyn Getty - Inspired by the opening of the Heidelberg Catechism ("What is my only hope in life and in death?") this new hymn by the Getty's (and several other hymn writers) answers it clearly: Jesus Christ.

  • The Trumpet Shall Sound from Handel's Messiah featuring Dashon Burton, Bass - While a quite different style than the Getty hymn, this selection also speaks of the good news that death does not have the final word. It also features amazing musicians - brings me joy every time I hear it.

  • Bohemian Rhapsody by the Prague Cello Quartet - You might have noticed by now that I've got a bit of a soft spot for fun arrangements of Bohemian Rhapsody - and this is right in my wheelhouse. Beautifully played, with a perfect balance of humor and musical precision.
