Extended Worship - August 16, 2020

Aug 16 2020 Worship Email.png

Today in worship, I relive some of my theatre days, Pete Leonard brings the anthem, and we hear an update about our latest mission outreach during the pandemic.  I also share a reminder to fill out our congregational survey about our pandemic response; you should have received (or receive soon) a letter in the mail from me on this.  You can take the survey right now online.  Thank you for being part of the Trinity family; if there are ways that Trinity and I can be a good support to you this week please don't hesitate to reach out.

Our weekly children's sermon is now part of our full worship service.  Here are a few resources families might find helpful this week:

  • Click Here for our weekly Parent's Guide to Christian Education at Home. This week: Grow Where You're Planted.

Music for Social Distancing
Each week our staff will be sharing some music that is bringing them joy.  Some may relate to the sermon, others are just music for the times.  You can click herefor the full playlist.  Here are this week's picks:

This week's songs from Chris:

  • Close Every Door from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat - So, spoilers, my sermon this week references the Broadway hit musical, and this is quite possibly the highlight song.  If you are into musicals, here's a link to the whole soundtrack.

  • Wings of a Dove (Psalm 55) by Celtic Psalms - In days when the world seems wrapped in chaos, I find peace in this moving setting of Psalm 55.

  • Nearer My God to Thee by The Piano Guys - An amazing version of the classic hymn performed by one cellist with some creative filming and editing.
