Trinity Has a New Ombudsman
Maybe you didn’t know we needed a new one (we do), or that we had an old one (we didn’t). But we need one now, and selected that title from and old Swedish word meaning “representative”.
We need an ombudsman - a representative – to help improve communications with Brentwood, particularly on Sunday mornings and when both congregations are present. Mike Wills has graciously accepted this responsibility.
If you experience a problem or have concerns relating to building matters, the worship service, or anything on a Sunday morning, contact Mike rather than reaching out to a Brentwood pastor or staff member. This will help us address issues more efficiently and maintain healthy boundaries in our shared building arrangement.
Thank you,
Trinity Trustees
Max Perryman, Lois Zerrer, Beth Kick
Sunday School Temporarily Relocated
The Fellowship Hall at church is being cleaned up after flooding due to the recent heavy rains. So Sunday School will be held in the chapel near the Trinity entrance (where the choir rehearses) this Sunday. Class will let out early so the choir can warm-up before worship.
Pastoral Care During Sabbatical
In case of a pastoral emergency during Pastor Tom's mini-sabbatical, please contact Rev. Alyssa in the church office. She will contact the on-call pastor to respond. You can phone or text (417-459-4192). If you phone, be sure to leave a message; calls do not "ring through" outside of office hours but message notifications (voicemail and text) are delivered 24/7. There are pastors on-call each day.
Office Volunteers and Subs Needed
Our friends at Brentwood have been providing MOST of the Welcome Desk coverage for the last 18 months, with a few gaps. We have offered to try to fill those gaps as we are able. Shifts are three hours long (9:00 a.m. to Noon, Noon to 3:00 p.m.), and involve answering the phone, opening the door, and general office tasks as needed. Most of the time you will be idle and able to focus on a task or book you bring from home. You can sign up to work specific shifts every week, once a month, or on specific days that work best for you.
Regular openings are on Mondays and Wednesdays, from Noon to 3:00 p.m. We would also like to develop a list of substitute Welcome Desk volunteers, folks that can be called when one of the regularly scheduled volunteers (on any shift, Monday through Thursday) cannot fill the shift.
Please contact Rev. Alyssa in the church office (office@trinityspringfieldpcusa.org, 417-450-2544) for more information or to be added to the schedule.

Four and More
Rev. Jane Huffstetler has agreed to lead Bible study on Wednesday afternoons at 4:00 p.m. (thus the name). We meet both at the church and by Zoom if that is what works for you. If you want to be included in the weekly reminder that also includes the Zoom link, please send Jane an email. We will begin with Genesis and work our way through the Bible. No prior knowledge is needed, just a Bible and a desire to study with others.
