Extended Worship - October 4, 2020 (World Communion Sunday)
The first Sunday in October marks World Communion Sunday, a day we set aside to mark our connection with Christians around the globe. Today in worship I'm glad to be sharing with you two elements prepared by the Presbyterian Mission Agency, featuring international partners of the PC(USA). Our opening prayer comes to us from South Africa and the Apostles' Creed is shared in many languages from across the world. I'm also delighted to have Rachel Groves and Sandy Rush as our liturgists, Brenda Sneed sharing our Children's Sermon, and Ilace Mears & David Bohnenkamper sharing beautiful music.
This is a communion service, so if you wish to take part in communion make sure to have bread and cup ready before you begin worship. I'll share my reminder that Christ is present at the table not because of what elements we use, but because of who God is.
Thank you for being part of the Trinity family. If there are ways I can be a support to you this week, please reach out.

Music for Social Distancing
Each week our staff will be sharing some music that is bringing them joy. Some may relate to the sermon, others are just music for the times. You can click here for the full playlist. Here are this week's picks:
This week's songs from Chris:
The Day Thou Gavest, Lord, is Ended by the Cambridge Singers - This is one of my personal favorite hymns (not a small list, if I'm honest...). Written to encourage missionary expansion, the hymn has transformed into a recognition that the family of faith is bigger than we can comprehend. The lyrics are in the video description, or at #677 in our hymnal.
Love Divine, All Loves Excelling at Westminster Abbey - Our friends in the Commonwealth sing this classic hymn to a Welsh tune, which I find beautiful and stirring. Recorded just weeks before the pandemic began.
Down in the River by the Shenandoah Christian Music Camp - A wonderful acapella rendition of this favorite.
It is Well With My Soul by Audrey Assad - A shimmering rendition; if you need hope today, give this a listen.
