Extended Worship - October 11, 2020

Happy Sunday!  Today in worship Melissa Hutton shares scripture and Al Dixon has a wonderful anthem for us.  Robert and Sharon Reed sing a great duet in our closing hymn, and of course you won't want to miss an offertory featuring Carla and our Trinity children & youth!

Two quick reminders.  First, our October Curbside Food Drive is TOMORROW (Monday, October 12) from 10am to 1pm.  Please bring by your donations of non-perishable food (unexpired and no glass) for Crosslines along with Hot Hands (or other single use hand warmers), hair brushes, and nail clippers for Grace.  If you can't make it tomorrow from 10-1, but still want to donate, please reach out to me and we can find a time that works for you!

Second, our youth are selling "Trinity Cares" reusable cloth face masks.  Masks are $10/mask, with $4.55 of each sale going to support our mission partners at Rare Breed.  You can order your mask online, and even sign up to have it mailed right to you (just cover the postage).  Click here to order your mask.  If you have any question, please reach out to Carla.

Thank you for being part of the Trinity family.  If there are ways I can be a support to you this week, please reach out.

Music for Social Distancing
Each week our staff will be sharing some music that is bringing them joy.  Some may relate to the sermon, others are just music for the times.  You can click herefor the full playlist.  Here are this week's picks:

This week's songs from Chris:

  • You Are So Good to Me by Waterdeep - A song of thanks to God for presence and healing written by Waterdeep (of Kansas City background) before being covered and popularized by Third Day; I personally still prefer the original version!

  • Abide with Me by the St. Olaf Cantorei and Congregation - A beautiful rendition of the classic hymn; St. Olaf College is known for its excellence in choral music, and this recording shows why.

  • Praise to the Lord, the Almighty from Westminster Abbey - I'll admit it, I'm a sucker for hymns of the British Cathedral tradition - when those hymns are part of a worship service at Westminster Abbey featuring the the best choir, brass, and organ, I'm all in.  One of the fun (to me at least) things of watching hymns from across the pond is the slight variations in translations: read the captioned lyrics for the second-to-last verse - they are beautiful.
