Easter Sunday Extended Worship

He is Risen!  He is Risen Indeed!  Alleluia, Amen.

As we celebrate Easter this year there are many things that are different -- and it is right and proper for us to mourn those things -- but we also can be assured that the most important things remain steadfast.  Friends, know that as sure as the sunrise, Christ is Risen Indeed.  We need not fear the grave, for death does not have the final word anymore.

I am delighted to share a number of resources for you to participate in the good news of this weekend, including two worship services, resources for families, and lots of wonderful music.  We also have links to devotional resources for the week to come and to our new online giving page for Trinity so you may participate in our financial life in these days apart.

Worship Videos

This week I'm thrilled to share two worship services with you; one from Trinity and one from our denominational leadership at the PC(USA).  Our Trinity service will again include music from Carla and Robert, plus an opportunity for you to share in Communion with your Trinity family (have some bread and juice, wine, or water handy).  The service from the PC(USA) is led by a number of our national leaders.  I encourage you to find time for both today!  We also have a special musical offering from Robert and Sharon Reed.

Resources for Families
We have three resources for families today, our weekly Worship & Wonder video with Reed, an activity for families of all ages to help discuss Easter, and a song Carla wants to introduce to our children -- she will be teaching it to our kids when we get back together, but you can sign along at home now!

Music for Social Distancing
Each week our staff will be sharing some music that is bringing them joy.  Some may relate to the sermon, others are just music for the times.  Each of these is being added to a playlist on our church YouTube Channel called "Music for Social Distancing" so over the weeks we will build quite the collection!  You can click here for the playlist.

This week's songs from Chris are:
Christ Is Risen He Is Risen Indeed by Keith & Kristin Getty - This fantastically upbeat song takes the traditional Easter greeting (He Is Risen Indeed!) as its center.
Day of Victory by Rend Collective - A new song for Easter, posted just weeks before social distancing measures went into effect.
Resurrection Letters Vol. 1 by Andrew Peterson - Not just a song, but a musical reflection of the good news of Resurrection over 10 tracks.  Some of the best songwriting of the last decade.
Jesus Christ is Risen Today sung by the choir of King's College, Cambridge - The grand Easter hymn sung by one of the great choirs of our time.
