Extended Worship - May 3, 2020

Today our worship centers around Psalm 23.  In music and scripture and prayer we consider what it means for the Lord to be our Shepherd.  Below you will find some great resources put together by your Trinity staff; if there are other ways we can support you please do reach out!

Two announcements for today.  First, yesterday I sent you an email inviting you to watch a special message from me about our plans in the coming months surrounding in-person activities.  If you missed it, you can Click Here for all the details.

Second, please remember that tomorrow, Monday, May 4 from 10am to 1pm is our next Crosslines Supply Drive!  Crosslines has specifically asked for the help of area churches in collecting items; this week they are especially needing: jelly/jam in plastic jars, canned tuna/chicken, and canned soup.  Click Here to get all the info on how you can help.

Remember, today we are celebrating the Lord's Supper together during worship. All you need to participate is grape juice, wine, or water, and bread.  I look forward to breaking bread together!

Resources for Families

Unfortunately, due to some complications, Reed wasn't able to share a Worship & Wonder video this week; I am sorry!  Don't worry, he will be back next week with more excitement!

Music for Social Distancing

Each week our staff will be sharing some music that is bringing them joy.  Some may relate to the sermon, others are just music for the times.  You can click here for the full playlist.  Here are this week's picks:

This week's songs from Chris are:
Since we are spending the week with Psalm 23, I've chosen four very different musical settings.  I hope you enjoy these as much as I do!

  • My Shepherd Will Supply My Need performed by the Bowdoin College Chamber Choir - This choral setting takes an Isaac Watts text and pairs it with an American folk melody.

  • The Lord's My Shepherd by Kiran Wimberly - A rousing Celtic melody is joined to a new setting of the text by Presbyterian Pastor Kiran Wimberly.

  • The Lord Is My Shepherd by Keith & Kristyn Getty - This awesome version of Psalm 23 has been on heavy repeat in my car for over a year now; I just can't get over the blues guitar woven through the song -- it is amazing!

  • Psalm 23 by Mike Crawford - Another showing for KC based Mike Crawford of Jacob's Well Church, I feel flowing water in the background guitar as we are reminded that "surely goodness and mercy will follow me all my days!"
