Springfield Donation Drive - June 29, 2020

Springfield Donation Drive Email.png

Trinity Presbyterian Church is hosting a community-wide donation drive on Monday, June 29, 2020 from 10am - 1pm and 3:30pm - 6:30pm. We are responding to three key needs in our community right now:

  1. Providing meals to at-risk homeless individuals currently sheltered in hotels

  2. Providing clean socks to homeless clients of Rare Breed & The Connecting Grounds

  3. Continuing our support of the Crosslines Food Pantry

We will be collecting items at the West Doors (closest to Glenstone) at Trinity Presbyterian Church (1900 E Barataria St, Springfield, MO 65804). Just pull up to the covered entryway and Pastor Chris will meet you with a cart to unload your donations.

Our big push for this drive is to get non-perishable items to make 300 meal kits to support the Merciful Nights Initiative as we provide meals to at-risk homeless individuals currently sheltered in local hotels. This will cover the July 4th weekend. Our Mission & Public Witness Committee is ordering some supplies, but we need your help rounding out the kits! Additionally, we are collecting new, in-package socks to help homeless individuals keep their feet clean, dry, and healthy.

Here are the items we need most:

  • Fruit cups (single serve peel or pop top)

  • Applesauce cups or pouches (single serve)

  • Granola or protein bars

  • Pudding cups (single serve)

  • Individual servings of dry breakfast cereal (individual boxes or cups)

  • Shelf-stable milk (no refrigeration needed only!)

  • Individually wrapped muffins (shelf-stable)

  • Bottled water

  • Socks (new, in-package only - any adult sizes/styles)

In addition, the following are always in need at Crosslines:

  • Canned chicken/tuna

  • Canned soup

  • Peanut butter

  • Jelly in plastic jars

  • Boxed meals like Mac & Cheese

Thank you in advance for your generosity! If you have any questions about this, or any other events at Trinity, please contact us.
