Trinity Worship - February 14, 2021 - Transform Us
Today in worship we celebrate Transfiguration of the Lord Sunday, the last Sunday before we enter into the season of Lent this coming Wednesday. We will be celebrating communion during worship today for Transfiguration; if you wish to participate, please have bread and cup handy during worship.
In the coming days you will be receiving more information on how you can participate in our Lent services and activities, but please make sure to mark the following two items on your calendar, both starting this week:
Wednesdays during Lent at 6:00pm - Mid-Week Prayer Service broadcast live from Trinity on our YouTube channel
Thursdays during Lent at 4:00pm - Mid-Week Study Group with Pastor Chris via Zoom
Additionally, I would encourage you to join Carla as she holds a Q&A session about a conference she recently attended (APCE). This will be tomorrow, Monday, Feb 15, at 6:00pm via Zoom. The link was in this past week's newsletter; reach out if you need it.
Finally, a note about Valentine's Day. Whatever your relationship with the modern version of the holiday, it is helpful as people of faith to remember that it is a day originally intended to honor a martyr of the early church. St. Valentine of Rome was executed by the Roman government for telling people about Jesus and ministering to those on the margins of Roman society. While the specific details are hazy, what is clear is that he acted out of love, even when it put him in harms way. May we all seek to pair our love with courage.
