Trinity Worship - June 13, 2021

Today is the day!  After more than a year worship is returning to the Sanctuary and I can't wait to welcome you back.  Whether you are joining us via livestream broadcast, will be in-person in the Sanctuary, or will be watching the service at a later time we have a great service planned for you.  We are also holding our Front Lawn Festival this afternoon from 4:00 to 5:30pm.  Lots of ways to connect with your Trinity family today!

Sunday Worship - 11:30am
There are two key ways to participate in worship today and in the coming weeks: Livestream Broadcast or In-Person Worship.  We want you to participate in the way that is best for you.  If you feel comfortable participating via Livestream Broadcast we would ask you to do so for the first few weeks as work out all the details of being back in the Sanctuary.

• If you are participating in worship by joining us in-person at Trinity:please note the following procedures and adjustments to help make worship a safer environment for everyone:

  • Please do not arrive at Trinity before 11:15am; this will allow time for Brentwood members to exit the building.

  • Please use the West / Trinity doors if possible; this will minimize congestion near the Sanctuary. If you need to use the East / Sanctuary doors due to mobility issues please feel free to do so.

  • Please wear a mask while in the building and be mindful of physical distance.

  • We will not pass an offering plate during worship. There will be a no-contact option to drop donations before and after the service; we also offer secure, online giving options at https://trinityspringfieldpcusa.org/give

  • Hymnals, Psalters, and Bibles have been removed from the pews. We will have a bulletin, but our primary way of sharing in responsive reading will be via our screens. You are welcome to bring your personal Bible to read scripture during worship if you wish.

  • As we continue to review guidance on congregational singing we ask those in the Sanctuary to hum or silently reflect on the words of our hymns and sung responses. We will have a soloist lead songs from the lectern.

Front Lawn Festival - 4:00pm
Today we are also holding our (rescheduled) Front Lawn Festival.  This outdoor only event is a great chance to reconnect with your Trinity family in a relaxed way.  We will gather at 4:00pm for a time of informal fellowship followed by a brief worship service at 4:30pm.  Following worship there will be more time to relax together.  There will also be special activities for our kids and youth.  Here are some important details:

• WEATHER: The forecast is calling for this afternoon to be sunny, hot, and humid. As you know, our front lawn doesn't have a lot of shade. Please be mindful of your own health and wellbeing when deciding whether to attend this event. We recommend you bring an umbrella for shade and put on plenty of sunscreen.

• WATER: While we will have a small supply of bottled water, we will not have enough for everyone. Please bring your own beverages, including plenty of water. See the above comment about it being sunny, hot, and humid!

• SNACKS: We will have some snacks to share with everyone; you are welcome to bring additional snacks and/or a light meal if you wish. We won't have an official "meal time" but you are welcome to snack during the whole event!

• MASKS: Masks are always welcome at Trinity events, but they are optional for outdoor events. If you have not yet been vaccinated we strongly suggest you wear a mask, even at outdoor events, for your own safety and the safety of others.

Curbside Food Drive - Monday from 10:00am to 1:00pm
As a bonus reminder, tomorrow (Monday, June 14) is our next Curbside Food Drive. If you are coming to either Sunday Worship or our Front Lawn Festival you may bring your donations today. We will have a table inside the West / Trinity doors where you can place your donation so you don't have to make an extra trip tomorrow. See this past week's newsletter for all the details.
