Officer Resources
Election as an officer at Trinity is a mark of trust and respect from your fellow members. It is also a great responsibility. Together, we are called to the ministries of governance and discernment, compassion and witness.
Thank you for serving!
Officer Training and Resource Library
The goal of Officer Training is to equip our elders and deacons for the specific ministry of leadership at Trinity. Each individual brings their own unique skills and background to this work; we each have our own strengths and areas of growth. Officer Training aims to build on our strengths while giving us resources to grow in our leadership.
2024 Officer Training
For our 2024 Officer Training we are using a mixture of self-paced training and in-person gatherings.
In-Person: Saturday, December 16, 2023 from 9:00am to 1:00pm.
We will gather for a half-day officer’s retreat where we will discuss key logistical items, hold our annual joint meeting of Elders and Deacons, and share a meal together.
Online: by the end of February
Please complete the Getting Started section of the Self-Paced Training items
The first two lessons are from the Synod of Mid-America and cover the basic roles of ordained leadership in the PC(USA). If you are new to ordained leadership it is Strongly Recommended that you complete these lessons. While they are not required, they will give you a solid grounding on our theology and understanding of leadership.
Sessions 3-5 are Trinity specific. These are Required for all incoming officers (or anyone who hasn’t completed them yet during their current term) and Strongly Recommended as a refresher for all.
