Extended Worship - August 23, 2020

Aug 23 2020 Worship Email.png

Today is the fifth anniversary of the first meeting of the group that would become Trinity.  As I said in my newsletter article on Thursday, I wish we could have an in-person celebration today!  Instead, I would encourage you to lift up a prayer of thanksgiving for our church community and make a point to reach out to at least one other Trinity member in the next day or two.

I also want to remind you that we will be discussing our 21-Day Racial Justice Challenge during our Summer Study Series time today; consider joining me for this time of reflection at 10:00am.  The Zoom link is later in this email.  Thank you for being part of the Trinity family; if there are ways that Trinity and I can be a good support to you this week please don't hesitate to reach out.

Resources for Families
Our weekly children's sermon is now part of our full worship service.  Here are a few resources families might find helpful this week:

  • Click Here for our weekly Family Faith Formation activity.  This week: Shipharah and Puah.

  • Click Here for our weekly Parent's Guide to Christian Education at Home. This week: On This Solid Rock We Stand.

Music for Social Distancing
Each week our staff will be sharing some music that is bringing them joy.  Some may relate to the sermon, others are just music for the times.  You can click herefor the full playlist.  Here are this week's picks:

This week's songs from Chris:

  • Praise to the Lord, the Almighty - from a Service to Celebrate the 60TH Anniversary of The Coronation of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, with the congregation and choir of Westminster Abbey.

  • Oh, The Deep Love of Jesus - recorded by Simon Khorolskiy - A classic hymn with full orchestra. Simon is not kidding when he refers to it as an "epic" version of the hymn.

  • 10,000 Reasons - recorded by Celtic Worship - The Scottish praise group brings their own style to this standard praise and worship song.
