Extended Worship - November 15, 2020

Nov 15 2020 Worship Email.png

This week in worship we have several special guests, from music to children's sermon.  What a joy to have so many individuals connected to the Trinity family willing to use their talents for God's glory.  A lot of you used your talents this past Monday as we collected 962 pounds of food for Crosslines; thank you!  How ever you are using your talents for the work of the Kingdom, know that I'm proud of you.  (Can you guess yet what the sermon is about?)

Please also remember: November is Pledge Month at Trinity.  Throughout the month we will be hearing from Trinity members about our Pledge Campaign and why they pledge.  Today during worship Lois Zerrer shares a bit of her story. You can learn more about our pledge campaign, and make your pledge online, right here: https://trinityspringfieldpcusa.org/pledge

Thank you for being part of the Trinity family. If there are ways I can be a support to you this week, please reach out.

Music for Social Distancing
Each week our staff will be sharing some music that is bringing them joy.  Some may relate to the sermon, others are just music for the times.  You can click herefor the full playlist.  Here are this week's picks:

This week's songs from Chris:

  • Kenosis Hymn by Mike Crawford - Exploring the mystery of Jesus being both human and divine, this wonderful and upbeat song from the Jacob's Well community in Kansas City is a personal favorite.

  • The last two of my recommendations are both settings of the same tune by Holst. O God Beyond All Praising by The Georgia Boy Choir is an excellent version of the hymn setting of this tune while I Vow to Thee, My Country is one of my personal favorite patriotic hymns. While "I Vow to Thee" is traditionally a British patriotic hymn, it works well for all of us who consider our duty to serve our nation while also recognizing our higher duty to serve God's Kingdom.
